#17 Besa Kaziu | Queer Balkans, Migration, Music & AI
02.03.2026 57 min Élie Chevillet
Today, I’m very happy to welcome Besa Kaziu to the show.
Besa is a Balkan artist whose music blends afrobeat, ballad, and electronic vibes. Born in North Macedonia, shaped by Tirana’s scene, and now based in Germany, she writes and produces her own tracks.
Music has been part of Besa’s life since childhood. But in 2019, she turned her passion into a profession, joining some of Albania’s top studios and performing in competitions across the region. Two years later, she received an award at a major festival in Montenegro.
In 2024, Besa pressed pause — stepping away from the spotlight to reconnect with herself and her purpose. That same year, she left the Balkans for love, because living openly as a queer person was never an option back home.
Besa is also passionate about tech and AI, and she brings a thoughtful perspective on generative AI in the music industry.
